Thank you for posting the news about the Kennedy Serve America Act on your blog last week. I thought you’d be interested in the upcoming events surrounding AmeriCorps Week 2009 (May 9-16), which will help to continue the drive for the largest expansion of national service in 75 years.
Thousands of AmeriCorps members and alums are coming together to participate in hundreds of events across the country to celebrate the positive impact of the AmeriCorps program and recruit more members to join the movement (and answer Obama’s call to service).
We will be reporting these events live on Facebook and Twitter and from local TV, radio and newspapers around the country. It would be great if we could get your help in continuing the momentum by helping us cover these efforts to further the Presient’s call to renew our promise to serve.
Linda Brown Rivelis, President of Campaign Consultation* (see the note below regarding this company and our work with AmeriCorps) and I, as Campaign Consultation’s Outreach Associate for AmeriCorps Week are helping to head up this project and would be happy to be in touch with you about this.
Since 1998, Campaign Consultation, Inc. continues to serve as the provider for special initiatives, sustainability, training, technical assistance and other special projects for Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). The Public Affairs function of CNCS asked Campaign Consultation to help support AmeriCorps Week outreach.
